Hola family and friends!
It took us a while to figure out the logistics of getting connected so that we could start posting messages on the blog. We had no problems with our flight and arrival. Everyone here was so helpful that we were able to find our luggage and and get through customs quickly. We had a short orientation and then met our host families at a restaurant. We had dinner and music and dancing. We're getting settled in with our host families and our classes started today. We're learning about Domican food and family life. More soon...

Hi Leslie,
I guess my first message did not take, so I'll try again with my creative blog name. We had George for dinner on Sunday and then he left on Monday for OC. We may not see him until nxt wk, because we are leaving for WVA tomorrow. Good luck in your studies. I think you are sooo brave.

so glad to hear that you arrived safely. after reading the blog about teaching to meet the needs of various levels of proficiency, i had such mixed feelings about not going back to school in the fall. but after scheduling 2 exchanges for our time shares, i feel much better.

Hola Leslie: I have been checking on you and am glad to hear all is well. Dave and I are headed to Virginia on vacation tomorrow and I believe George is headed back from OC. He will be in charge of the home front. All is well here with Pop. Study hard....

Read all the info on the blog...guess you will be busy but have LOTS of fun! Have the mosquitos attacked you also. I am going to say everything in English since you hear mostly Spanish there. George called today to see about having dinner together today or tomorrow before he goes back to OC......I think we well try to go a couple days this week unless I need to be home for the kitchen project!
